Integrative Counselling

Integrative Counselling

As an integrative counsellor, I draw on a range of therapeutic models and approaches. These include psychodynamic, person-centred, CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) and integral therapy. I also use therapeutic imagery and other creative approaches, such as painting and drawing. These approaches can feel a little easier than talking and can improve and enhance wellbeing. You may wish to try some of these ways of working, as they are also very useful in exploring and developing further understanding and insight.

By working integratively, I am able to use the most suitable approaches to adapt to your changing needs and requirements. For me, the most important thing is our therapeutic relationship. Research has shown this proves to be the deciding factor in effective and successful therapy.

I hope that in our initial meeting, you will feel able to speak candidly about what brought you to counselling, and what your hopes and expectations are. Furthermore, I hope you will feel free to ask any questions you may have. During our meeting I will also explain my policy on confidentiality, fees, appointments and cancellations.

I offer both short-term and open-ended counselling. Should we agree to work together, we can explore what suits you and work at your pace.
